Two types of volunteers are needed for the Acadiana Festival of Trees.

Event Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer to work at the 2008 Festival of Trees, we want your help. Please fill out this application stating your preferred day and time and fax (237-0806) or email Erin the completed application.

We have listed below the types of volunteers needed for the days of the event. Look this list over and feel free to contact Erin (237-1320) if you have any questions.

  • Set-up: Requires a flexible spirit! Whether you are helping a designer put lights on her tree or running to target to buy that last minute extension cord, the behind the scenes action will help you appreciate all the work that goes into the magic of the Festival!
  • Family Nights volunteer: Perfect for the young at heart! Help a child make reindeer food, take a photo with Santa, or check in kids as they line up for their first taste of Christmas.
  • Gala set up: Prepare for the final night! This job is also perfect for those who are flexible in their volunteer efforts. Set up the silent auction tables, create space for the restaurants, or put finishing touches on the décor, there is much to do to make the gala a success!
  • Gala volunteer: Enjoy the elegance of the gala! Check in guests dressed in their holiday best or serve delicious food from local restaurants. A crew is needed to make sure that the finale to the Festival goes off as planned!

  • Delivery volunteer: Arguably our most important volunteers! Help prepare and transport our trees to their new homes. This job requires some (or a lot) of lifting and sometimes some “fluffing” skills. Transport vehicles (pickups) are welcome and appreciated!

Planning Committee: If you would like to volunteer to be on the Festival of Trees planning committee, please email or call Erin at the Acadiana Youth office at 237-1320. Spaces on all committees are available, and new ideas and input are always welcome.
