The mission of Acadiana Youth, Inc. is to provide a safe haven for abused and troubled children, while offering a broad range of therapeutic, educational, and recreational services.

Every child in Acadiana deserves an opportunity to succeed.

The Children’s Shelter is a spacious, home-like residence that can house up to sixteen children two through seventeen years of age. All of the children admitted to the shelter are victims of abuse or neglect and are in need of protective services. Children in these crisis situations can be admitted twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Classrooms are located on site and staffed with certified teachers from the Lafayette Parish School Board. Activities aimed at developing recreational and social skills are available, in addition to individual and group counseling. The maximum stay for a child is one hundred and five days as determined by the State. During this time, a foster home or appropriate relative placement is located.

We are always in need of paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), non-perishable items and canned goods.
